All doctors at Blackburn Clinic can help with a wide range of General Practice issues including: asthma, children’s health, diabetes, family medicine, geriatric medicine, immunisations and vaccinations, men’s health, mental health, minor surgery, sexual health, skin checks, travel medicine and women’s health.

Dr Suzanne Ashdown

Suzanne graduated from Monash University in 2003 and first joined Blackburn Clinic as a Registrar in February 2010. She was welcomed back to the Blackburn Clinic team in May 2012. She now juggles caring for her young family while working as a GP part-time. Suzanne enjoys all aspects of general practice, and has a particular interest in women’s and children’s health.
Dr Grant Connoley

Grant graduated from Melbourne University in 1984 and has been at Blackburn Clinic since 1989. His previous experience includes working in various hospitals, lecturing at Monash University Department of Family Medicine, and working as a Medical Educator at the RACGP. Grant is a Principal of the practice, a current Board member of the Eastern Victoria General Practice Training Program, and is an examiner for the RACGP.
Dr Sean Das

Sean graduated from Glasgow University, Scotland in 1990 and emigrated to Australia in 2001. He spent 5 years as a GP in Lakes Entrance before moving to Melbourne, and has been at Blackburn Clinic since 2009. He is married with two children, is a frustrated Egyptologist, and a long suffering supporter of the Indian cricket team.
Dr Ann Donaghy

Ann graduated from Queensland University in 1993. She moved to Melbourne and started at Blackburn Clinic in 2007. She has two children and works part time. Her areas of interest are women’s health and all aspects of family medicine. Her interests outside of medicine include reading literature, growing vegetables and caring for and walking her dogs.
Dr Karen Du
Dr Karen Du spent six months at Blackburn Clinic in early 2021 and came back for good in 2022. Karen enjoys the variety of General Practice and says every day is different here. As a GP she likes having the opportunity to prevent conditions from occurring through practicing preventative medicine. Karen is currently on maternity leave in order to welcome the birth of her first child.

Scott studied medicine at Monash University, then General Practice, Obstetrics and Anaesthetics to work as a country doctor. He joined Blackburn Clinic in 1994 and never left! Scott is a Principal of the practice. He enjoys variety - from newborns to the ageing - kids, adults and the wide array of problems assisted. He performs Men’s and Women’s Health Checks, Aviation Medicals, Skin Checks and Minor Surgery. Scott’s interests include family, flying, hockey, cycling, travel and adventurous pursuits.
Dr Megan Glenister
Dr Megan Glenister first joined Blackburn Clinic as a Registrar in 2020 and we welcomed her return in February 2022. Megan loves dogs and brightens our day with her positive attitude. Megan loves all aspects of medicine, especially women’s health. She enjoys caring for the wide range of ages in our Blackburn community.
Dr Melanie Hattotuwa

Dr Melanie Hattotuwa joined the Blackburn Clinic in 2006 and now juggles caring for her young family while working at the practice. Melanie is a Principal of the practice who has a special interest in women’s health and paediatrics, although she enjoys all aspects of medicine.
Dr Christopher Ineson

Dr Chris Ineson grew up Cheltenham in the UK and graduated from London University in 1997. He is an experienced GP having worked in Berwick, Cranbourne and Langwarrin since 2005, who joined the Blackburn Clinic team in 2021. He enjoys all aspects of general practice including skin checks, chronic disease management and men’s health checks. He has an interest in teaching medical students and at his last practice was a GP trainer and GP examiner for the RACGP. He is currently working towards a Diploma in Skin Cancer medicine. He values continuity of care with his patients, teamwork and high quality patient care. Outside work he enjoys kayak fishing, cycling and spending time with his family.
Dr Alvin Kong

Dr Wei Lun (known as Alvin) Kong spent six months at Blackburn Clinic in 2020 and enjoyed it so much he returned twelve months later. Alvin was drawn to General Practice because it offers the full circle of healthcare, right from pregnancy, through infancy and childhood, adulthood and the older years. Outside work he enjoys keeping fit, photography and is a keen aquamarine hobbyist with several freshwater planted aquariums and aquascapes.

Janice had a rich and diverse childhood, growing up on tea plantations in Sri Lanka and Indonesia before migrating to Australia at age eleven. Janice graduated with honours from Monash University and worked in the UK before joining Blackburn Clinic in 1999. Janice’s medical interests include antenatal care, family planning, menopause management, paediatrics and geriatric medicine. She enjoys tennis, walking the dog and involvement at her local church.
Dr Peter Lovass

Peter graduated from Monash University with honours in 1996. Following training at Eastern Health, he commenced at Blackburn Clinic in 1999 as a registrar, becoming a partner in 2002. He is the current Managing Principal of Blackburn Clinic. Peter enjoys all aspects of General Practice and feels privileged to serve the local community in this way.
Dr Andrew Rawlin
Sadly, Dr Andrew Rawlin will be moving on from Blackburn Clinic in March 2022.
Andrew says it has been a true privilege to be involved in the care of so many wonderful people, and that Blackburn Clinic truly is the epitome of a family clinic - both for patients and staff. He is looking forward to the next stage of his immediate future which involves finishing further studies and some exciting non-clinical roles.
Dr Claire St John

Claire graduated from Monash University and has worked at Blackburn Clinic since 1999. Her qualifications include a Diploma of Obstetrics and she is accredited to do Shared Antenatal Care. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and all aspects of general practice. Her special interests include pregnancy care, women’s health and paediatrics. She is married with three adult children.
Dr Jasdeep Sandhu

Jasdeep migrated to Australia in 2005. She studied at Latrobe University before returning to clinical practice. From 2010-2016 she worked as a GP in Gisborne and Mooroolbark, and is delighted to now be working closer to home. Jasdeep joined the Blackburn Clinic team in March 2016. Her interests include women’s health, paediatrics, mental health, preventative and family medicine. Jasdeep is fluent in English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.
Dr Adrian Tang

Dr Adrian Tang graduated at Monash University in 1995 and has been practising medicine in a wide variety of disciplines since. His initial interest was in surgery and he was a Director of Emergency at Werribee Hospital for several years before pursuing his passion in general practice. Adrian first joined Blackburn Clinic in 2002 and is a Principal of the practice. His love for travel has spurred him on to specialise in travel medicine. Adrian’s other interest is music, and he is an accomplished player of the piano and violin. He has been blessed with two fun loving children who, like their dad, are avid supporters of the St.Kilda Football club.
Dr Yashar Zadeh

Dr Yashar Zadeh grew up in Iran and became a Doctor of Medicine in 2002. Since moving to Australia in 2007 he has worked in several General Practices in Victoria. He joined Blackburn Clinic in May 2021. Yashar believes in fostering GP education and he was a GP Training Supervisor at his last practice. Yashar brings a wide range of experience, is compassionate and speaks fluent Farsi. He is the father of two primary aged children, and is a keen photographer and gardener when he can find the time.
Dr Aaron Zhang

Dr Aaron Zhang was born in China and moved to New Zealand when he was 11 years old. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Otago in New Zealand, and moved to Melbourne. He spent the next few years figuring out his career by working in various hospitals around Victoria, before realising that only general practice would allow him to embrace all aspects of medicine. He is married with two young sons. He tries to do some gardening, fishing and travelling whenever he finds the time.

Dr Andrew Broad

Andrew graduated from the University of Otago in NZ in 1987 and came to Australia in 1989. He was a GP in East Kew for 20 years before joining Blackburn Clinic in September 2016, in a part time capacity. He is married and has two sons and enjoys all aspects of General Practice.
Dr Peter Elliott

Dr Elliott has four adult children and is a keen golfer when family and work commitments allow the time. He joined the Blackburn team in 1999 and is a Principal of the practice. Dr Elliott has been active on the Medical Boards of Mitcham Private Hospital (Chairman until 2003) and is currently Chairman of Donvale Rehabilitation Hospital. He attends Blackburn Clinic patients requiring rehabilitation care at Donvale Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr Elliott was Managing Partner at Blackburn Clinic for almost ten years, stepping down at the end of 2015. His medical interests include all aspects of family practice, particularly paediatrics, and geriatric medicine.
Dr Yeganeh Khavar

Yeg worked at Blackburn Clinic as a Registrar from February to August 2016. Yeg proved very popular with patients, and we welcomed her return on a permanent basis in February 2017. Yeg enjoys all aspects of general practice, especially preventative care, women and children’s health, and minor surgical procedures.
Dr Terence Ting

Dr Terence Ting joined Blackburn Clinic in February 2017, after traversing between hospitals under the Monash Health Group, and working in GP clinics in Pakenham and Eltham. Terence has worked as a physiotherapist in the past, but enjoys the variety that general practice offers.
Dr Prabaharan Ratnarajah

Praba’s initial interest in paediatrics led to training at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre, before focusing on general practice. He started at Blackburn Clinic in 2005 and is a Principal of the practice. Praba has also been caring for in-patients at Donvale Rehabilitation Hospital since 2006. He is married with three children, enjoys playing cricket, and is an avid follower of sports in general.
